Vision
We seek an Imam / Religious Director who strives to be embedded in the community, recognizing the centrality of addressing members’ social, spiritual, and emotional needs through mentorship and relationship building. Given our unique demographics of a significantly younger population, we are particularly keen on having our Imam / Religious Director provide for the needs of youth and students. The role involves:
- Religious and Educational Programs
- Community Development and Support
- Self- Development
Community Background
There are 1000+ Muslims in Bryan and College Station. 60-80 children attend our Al-Huda Sunday School program.
Alhamdulillah, we have a vibrant masjid and an adjacent Muslim Student Center with study rooms and a gym.
Located only 2 blocks from Texas A&M University, our congregants are largely college students, including a mix of international and American students. Because of this, the community is very dynamic with most members staying with us for 2 to 4 years.
The Muslim Student’s Association and ICBCS work closely together. Joint programs include social, outreach, and education programs on and off-campus.

With members from over 40 countries, experience the beautiful diversity of the Ummah. A unique leadership model brings together students and professionals on the Board, providing ethnic and gender diversity.
Currently, students of Texas A&M serve on the board as well as the MSA president, Alumni, and other working professionals.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Sound knowledge of Qur’an, Hadith, and Fiqh
- Understands challenges of American Muslims and is able to provide for their spiritual growth through educational programs and other activities (previous experience required)
- Broad approach to differences of opinion in fiqh – able to obtain fiqh opinions from scholars as needs arise
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent communication skills
- Eligible to work in the US
- Able to work with diverse segments such as youth, students (American & International), and families.
Preferred
- Experience in youth, pre-marital/marital, and spiritual counseling
- Experience as an Imam, Religious Director, Chaplain, Youth Director, or similar position
Primary Responsiblities
The final list of responsibilities will be mutually agreed upon based on community needs as well as the Imam’s strengths and passions.

*Due to the nature of the interview process and community needs, the placement for this position can be as early as August 2021.
